Balzan Prizes 2010 to be announced on 6 September in Milan

 

The Prizewinners of the four Balzan Prizes 2010 will be officially announced in Milan next 6 September, Monday, at the Fondazione Corriere della Sera at 6 pm. The event will be open to the public, and will take place in the Buzzati Hall, via Balzan 3.


After an opening speech by the Chairman of the Balzan Foundation "Prize", Bruno Bottai, the Chairman of the General Prize Committee, Salvatore Veca, will announce the winners and read the citations, while the four winners will be presented by other members of the Committee in charge of each subject.


Immediately after the public announcement, at around 6 : 45 pm, Paolo Rossi Monti, Balzan Prizewinner 2009 for the History of Science, will hold a lecture titled "La scienza e la sua storia" (The Science and its History).
