26 June 2009 | Conference New Concepts in Teaching and Research: Methods, Tools, and Evaluation Swiss Transdisciplinary Conference 2009, SION td-net and the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch (IUKB) organise in the years 2008 and 2009 two Swiss conferences. The conferences aims to promote the exchange of the requirements of inter- and transdisciplinary teaching and research. The dialogue will be held in the two official languages German and French and thus comprises the various initiatives across linguistic boundaries.

Questions addressed to finance and business studies Date: Friday, 12 June 2009, 17.30–20.15, Zurich, ConventionPoint Conference within the series «Knowledge makes dialogue» of the swiss-academies comprising three speeches and a round table. Organised by the SAHS. How could the current financial crisis possibly come about? Did mathematic and probabilistic modelling suggest a false sense of security? Did this induce risky behaviours? Were experts aware of the risks, however, did not communicate them explicitly enough? Are there too many financial mathematicians and too few economic experts with a generalist view within the financial system? Do models divert the view on reality and has theory moved too far away from practice?
17 June 2009 | Conference Change of professional profiles in the health sector This public conference aims to give both an inside view by physicians and nurses and an outside view by researchers in the humanities and social sciences on the «Change of professions in the health sector». This conference aims to contribute to a better understanding of the current change of the professions in the health sector and to help to shape it actively.
27.-28.11.2008 | Event The annual Transdisciplinarity Conference is one of the central means of the td-net to promote excellence in transdisciplinary research and teaching. Its main aim is to provide a platform for the exchange between individuals and teams involved in transdisciplinary projects on a diversity of issues (public health, migration, new technologies, climate change, globalisation, etc.) so that they can learn from each other’s experiences and further develop integrative methods and approaches for knowledge-based solutions to pressing problems in the life-world.
